Latest work and what’s coming up.

Just wanted to make a short post about four new paintings I have done this past month.

Lately I’ve been inspired by the colours of beautiful sunrises and sunsets we are lucky to witness here in Nova Scotia. I took a few special trips to Peggy’s Cove and around HRM to watch the sun setting. Variation in the colours of the sky is absolutely incredible.

Two paintings (Dartmouth Waterfront at Sunset and On the Road to Peggy’s Cove)  above were accepted into an annual group show at Teichert gallery in downtown Halifax at 1723 Hollis Street (at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia). It is a salon-style juried exhibition that showcases 70 original artworks by 52 established and emerging local artists. The show runs until November 1 and is worth seeing if you are in Halifax.

These two paintings (Nocturne. Peggy’s Cove and Evening Light. Peggy’s Cove) are now available at Made in the Maritimes Artisan Boutique located in Sunnyside Mall in Bedford. Made in the Maritimes is a really nice art gallery showcasing work by Canadian Maritime artists (New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia). You can find a wide range of products like pottery, fine art, jewellery, gourmet edibles and many more. It is beautifully set up and is a perfect place to shop if you are looking for gifts or would like to extend your art collection.

At last I want to give you a quick update on what I am working on right now. I am creating a number of small paintings that will be available to purchase on my website. It will be a collection of images of some of my favourite places in Nova Scotia (Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg) . I  will also be making a few Christmas ornaments this year again.
